National APRI Conference in Fort Lauderdale, FL

The National A. Phillip Randolph Institute Conference is a vibrant event for labor leaders, civil rights advocates, and all who are committed to social justice. This year, as we gather in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, we look forward to a transformative experience filled with meaningful discussions, networking, and a strengthened dedication to the values championed by A. Phillip Randolph throughout his life.

Purpose of the Conference

The conference unites passionate individuals who aim for social change and improved working conditions in the U.S. Participants will take part in various sessions focusing on crucial topics such as workers' rights, equity, and the critical intersection of race and labor.

Workshops and panel discussions will provide insights from experienced activists and industry experts. For example, last year, 80% of attendees reported that they left sessions with clear, actionable strategies to use in their communities. This year, we anticipate similar or even greater engagement.

Keynote Speakers and Sessions

This year’s lineup features distinguished speakers known for their significant contributions to labor movements and social justice. Their contributions will highlight challenges and opportunities for workers today.

Key themes for discussion will include:

  • The power of union solidarity in facing workplace challenges

  • Successful grassroots mobilization tactics used in recent campaigns, such as the Fight for $15 movement, which has raised minimum wage standards in several states by up to 20%

  • Navigating the political landscape to advocate effectively for workers’ rights in the current climate

Prepare for inspiring dialogues that will encourage attendees to initiate concrete actions in their communities.

Networking Opportunities

One of the standout features of the conference is robust networking opportunities. Attendees from various backgrounds will connect, exchange experiences, and forge alliances to bolster advocacy efforts. Structured networking events and informal meet-and-greets will allow participants to build relationships that can lead to ongoing collaboration.

Last year, over 75% of participants reported forming new contacts that had tangible benefits for their advocacy work within just months of the conference.
